My wider work has always been about helping people and organisations to thrive. Alongside that, I now offer Occupational Therapy services for individuals and families — practical, compassionate support that helps people live more independently and with greater peace of mind. This work aligns closely with my values: making life simpler, removing barriers, and enabling people to focus on what matters most.

Everyone deserves to feel confident, supported, and independent in their daily life. As an Occupational Therapist — with many years’ experience working in the NHS — I understand how complex systems and processes can feel. My role is to make things clearer and easier to navigate, whether that’s benefits, equipment, or support at home. By combining my clinical expertise with my coaching skills, I not only help with the practical steps but also support you emotionally — so you feel confident and in control of the decisions being made.

Occupational Therapy Services

Attendance Allowance Support

Many people miss out on benefits because the application process can feel daunting. I can help by:

  • Guiding you through the Attendance Allowance form, step by step

  • Providing independent assessments to support your application

  • Ensuring your daily needs and challenges are clearly and persuasively described

Why This Matters: Facts & Figures

  • Over half of Attendance Allowance claims are rejected on first submission, with rejection rates reported at around 58%.

  • Approximately 1.1 million pension-age households in the UK are estimated to be missing out on Attendance Allowance—adding up to more than £5 billion unclaimed every year.

  • Attendance Allowance can be worth up to £110.40 per week, which equates to about £5,740 annually for those eligible for the higher rate.

These figures reveal that many older people are left without vital financial support, often due to a lack of awareness, confusion over eligibility, or simply the complexity of the claim process—things I can help simplify and resolve.

You can get Attendance Allowance if you’ve reached State Pension age and the following apply:

  • you have a physical disability (including sensory disability, for example blindness), a mental disability (including learning difficulties), or a health condition

  • your disability or health condition is severe enough for you to need help caring for yourself or someone to supervise you, for your own or someone else’s safety

  • you have needed that help for at least 6 months

There are different eligibility rules if you are nearing End of Life (for example, due to a life-limiting illness). You might be able to get Attendance Allowance more quickly and at a higher rate.

Independent Assessments for Blue Badge Applications

Hidden disabilities can make it hard to get a Blue Badge. I offer independent occupational therapy assessments to provide strong, credible evidence that supports your application and ensures your needs are recognised, this is particularly relevant for people with Hidden or invisible disabilities such as dementia or mental health issues.

Support with other benefit applications

I do offer support with benefit applications, if that is something you would like to discuss then please get in touch.

Equipment Advice and Support at Home

Choosing the right equipment can significantly enhance independence and confidence. I can help you:

  • Identify practical daily living solutions

  • Select the right aids and adaptive equipment

  • Explore wheelchair options that are safe, comfortable, and suitable for outdoor use
